Known for its sunny, warm climate and bounteous Southern hospitality, Jacksonville is popular with both residents and businesses. Since 2007, the city has seen a lot of new development with more stunning residential and commercial buildings adding to its charm. 1. Hilton Garden Inn – Downtown/Southbank
Located on the same property as the Hilton Garden Inn is its sister hotel, Homewood Suites. This gives visitors to the city a large pool of rooms. A 2012 winner of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, this hotel is located in the desirable San Marco neighborhood and has convenient access to transportation, entertainment, shopping, and restaurants.
2. Duval County Courthouse – Downtown
In 2012, this building became the new home of the Duval County Courthouse, housing courtrooms, judges, and support staff. This is the fifth home to the county courts since Duval County was created in the early 1800s. The 800,000-square-foot building welcomes approximately 1,500 visitors each day in addition to the hundreds of employees who work there.
3. The Fresh Market, The Brooklyn Riverside – Downtown
On the left side of this formerly-abandoned area is a Fresh Market store, offering organic groceries to area residents. To the right is The Brooklyn Riverside which offers luxury apartment homes complemented by modern community amenities. Both properties are located near Riverside Park, as well as local restaurants and retail shops.
